My youngest lad (small age 7, almost 8), has decided his future lies at the local skatepark rather than the woods, & has asked for a BMX for his birthday…

There was a lad about his height making short work of the bowl & ramps, on what looked to be a 16″ wheel BMX. (They headed off before I could have a word).

Prices seem to vary from £80 Halfrauds clunkers, to £300+ WeThePeople jobbies.
THe SE Racing Little Ripper looks nice.
(Nostalgically harks back to the PK of old). 🙂

    Anyone have a recommendation…
    Budget of about £150.
Don’t think he’d be too bothered if it were an old model year etc.

    Cheers.

Try looking out for an 18inch, my eldest (8 now) has a Saracen one through LBS. Just right size really, Ok spec, not too heavy and should hoepfully last him a few years.

Unless your son is very tall they a 16″ may be too small or not last long. My daughter is 4 and has a 16″ wethepeople seed. It should last her a a couple of years.

My youngest son has outgrown his wethepeople Arcade 18. Same as below but with red grips.

In almost mint condition as he didn’t use it much.

If you’re interested give me a shout 🙂

The wethepeople seed She has was the girliest looking proper box we could find. It’s a fantastic little thing. It’s build just like a full size and is sting enough for me to jump around on. It wasn’t cheep but they prob don’t make many and the price reflects the excellent quality. It will be powder coated and passed down to my son when he is big enough for it.

My tall 8 year old is still on his 16″ Mafiabike BB Kush

He has had it since he was six and when it finally falls apart he will move up to 18″

We bought my (small) 4 year old a 12″ United Recruit for his birthday even though he has rides a 16″ bike normally.

I don’t know where you are, but this guy has been excellent for my two:

The guy’s a real enthusiast. He champions the brand United and will shift on price and buy back.

    My kids, aged 6 & 8, ride 16″ Blank Buddys ( Dad rides a 24″ cruiser)

Riding BMX with my kids tops the “it’s great to be a Dad” moments.

Another vote for an 18 incher. Back when I used to ride the bmx competitions there were 2 young brothers about 9 and 10 who used to do flips and stuff on 18s in the amateurs then moved up to 20s when they were about 11 or 12

Not sure where you are but rampworld in Cardiff sell quite a few small bmx’s and you get a free skatepark session if you buy one..

i’d vote for a 2nd hand we the people

if want/need a 16″ wheeled bmx at that budget then this Diamond Back is probably better than some
