Have been riding several cheeky trails among gorse bushes recently. I can accept the annoying splinters and cuts to arms and legs and the occasional puncture.

Had “one” at the weekend and patched post ride. Went flat again so put a proper repair in this evening in prep for dawn ride tomorrow. Just been out to check everything and tyre flat again.

ok so bought inner inside to do the water test – patch was fine. Then found a further 7 – SEVEN – further holes. WTF, is that a record???

Cant find any of the offending bits in the actual tyre despite 10 mins of patient examination.

Serves me right for riding the cheeky stuff!!! 😉

Time to get up-to-date and finally go tubeless???

Cant find a single thorn in the tyre – even with reading glasses on!

If you think gorse is bad try riding where there are goat’s head thorns – that’s what convinced me that tubeless was the only way to roll. I haven’t had a single thorn flat in the seven years since.
