Cheapest (or best value) direct mount chainset available?

Struggled today with the 32t oval chainring, running 11-42 cassette on the rear. I know I could go 11-46 on the cassette or 30t oval but just considering the option to run a 28t chaining might be better..

Running older XT cranks currently and frame won’t take a front mech so no double chainset

Race Face Aeffect Direct Mount from UBYK. They seem to come stock down to 30t, but not 28t.
