I’ve got a cheapo chinese light that has a battery on the end of a cable that detatches for charging, thats fine on my commuting bike as I can leave it on, but it’s a faff on my main bike.

Been riding evenings a lot more and would like one I can just keep in my bag and clip straight on my bars when I start to lose light.

I’m on a budget big time though!

700lm is my minimum for a single light, I have a bontrager ion 700, it’s very good and can be had for £75, but I guess you are looking to go cheaper?

I just picked up a 900LM Xeccon from the classifieds. £23. That’s the sort of thing you need to look for.

Are you talking about an ’emergency get me home’ type of light, or a proper ‘i want to carry on riding’ type?

A fluxient u2 mini or a Xeccon for around your budget

Superb, more of a ‘keep on playing’ light. I do sometimes find myself too far from home and losing track of time.

What kind of lumens would I need for that? Seen someones selling a 900L light in the classifieds.

I can just about get by with an ~400lm joystick on familiar trails!

I’ve still got this meant to sell it over winter but forgot about it.

Has a battery pack or you can run it with internal 18650 batteries, would sell for £40 posted.

I had a Fluxient U2 mini quite a while ago. It was my biking light until I upgraded. It would do the job perfectly, you could even carry a spare 18650 for more runtime. It had a nice floody beam

I’ve got this one. Works well, bright, run time decent.

Alpkit Boson was down to £30 in the sale, would do what you need and also fits in an Exposure helmet mount

Tredz are selling the most excellent Blackburn ‘central 700’ for £26-99 (using their £5discount)

Works great with a GoPro handlebar mount.

Other mounting options are available.

They’re selling sp gadget GoPro stem mounts on eBay for 8 or 9 quid.

You could also buy one of torchys lights and screw a GoPro mount onto the base.

Interested in that Blackburn, would that be okay for riding trails?

Attached to the sp gadgets handlebar mount via a regular GoPro style clicky helmet mount.

Mind though that the tredz voucher works as one per purchase.

If you buy two of those lights, you’ll need to use the voucher on one, pay for it and then repeat the process for the other light.

As for the Blackburn 700’s…

Like testiclons, one good, two great.

One light gives a nice beam for commuting, but I found that with two you get a nice spread to the periphery on the trails.

Whether there are better options at (2*£27), I don’t know
