Bought some new toys for #1 bike and pretty much decided to sell the dh bike so that should see me coming out with most of the parts needed to build some sort of inexpensive blunt axe of a thing, to take a bit of strain off my ego-chariot
So... What to look at? The Lyriks are u-turn, set at 170mm (though can convert easily back to 160 and in theory can go up to 180). The wheels and groupset are all standard- 135/73. Whatever it is, has to be slack, tough and under... Let's say £400. Ideally coily and with iscg mounts. I like tapered and 1.5 headsets for geometry-messing but that's just a bonus. Oh and I'm disqualifying the SX Trail because I had one and didn't like it, so that probably takes out Enduros as well.
Patriot seems obvious, Commencal Mini, Intense Slopestyle 1s... Reign X? Stuff like that but it's not a sort of bike I've ever really paid much attention to. I'm not falling for that "mini dh" thing, it's just the cheapest way to do it I think!
