Shimano hub laced to Alax rim qr - any good? is a qr skewer required?

Got a set of XT hubs on silver Mavic 717 rims. few marks and a wee ding on one of the rims (cant remember which). would prefer them to go as a pair though.

Got a 10mm bolt one for £10 plus postage with 160mm disc stuck on (rotor bolt rounded out). It has done about 10 miles then sat in a cupboard
Rim is Alex DM 24 and hub is KK Disc although both are unlabelled. Wheel is true and virtually brand new.

I have a DDM (carrera wheel, with formula hub) very low usage, QR, surprisingly light I'd do for £17.50 delivered, or an Alex DDG rim bright yellow) on a Grimeca cartridge bearing hub with disc for £22.50 delivered.
