  • Cheap Deores?

    Any around at the moment?

The avids have finally frustrated me, today the front one far too spongy and tbh a pain in the backside, ive tried to bleed it and made it worse, my LBS bled it and made it the way it was before claiming that’s the best they could get, now I know that’s not right as the rear brake is loads tighter.

Time to give up and go deore, although if cheap enough maybe slx?

I’ve got a pair of brand new unused SLX brakes in the classifieds.

The deore’s arrived from ribble not too bad, a bit annoyed as no olives or hose inserts to let me trim the hoses so had to go the lbs to pick some of those up.

I was surprised that none locally to me had any to sell, had to go further a field as I wanted to sort this out today.

I also found that most local shops didn’t stock olives/inserts, although I didn’t have time to get to RCR who probably would have done.

One bike shop I went to said yep ive got some but not for sale, but if you want I can trim the hoses for you and fit these, that’s £20 a hose, cheeky sod!!
