I have a Thule Chariot and I’m looking in to my options on hooking it to various bikes with a variety of different axle standards.

Can anyone confirm what I’m starting to think –

For an Alfine I need the standoff nut adaptor and the supplied hitch.
For the 142×12 thru-axle I need the new surrogate axle* and the supplied hitch?

Is there a better way of doing it?

*I’m also not sure if I have Syntace standard, Shimano standard or Maxle standard axles. Time to go count some thread pitch.

Just wanted to check because they’re bloomin’ expensive.

I just used an old bearing as a spacer and it works fine.

The hitch slips round on my wife’s bike which is a 9mm QR.
I’d save your money and find a way to space the standard hitch out from the frame.

That said, I have no idea about hubs that aren’t 135mm.

So long as they are careful opening and resealing the box it shouldn’t be an issue.

I found a turbo trainer 12mm bolt through axle which worked fine and much cheaper than the other available ones at the time. I drilled out the hitch so it’d fit a 12mm axle and everything was fine.

Are these cheaper?
