Im planning on putting new piston seals on my Mono M4’s, but cant find any distructions on Hope’s site or via Google.

Has anyone done it ? Im assuming is simple, but would like to know of any issues / problems / techniques before hand.

Do I just pump out the pistons, clean replace and push them back in, then blead – or is there more to it ?

    Cheers.

If it’s the mono, you’ll need to tool to take the piston caps off so you’ve got room to work. They’re not the easiest Hopes to fettle but with a bit of patience and thought, straight forward enough!

Do I need a special tool to remove the caps ?

for M4’s the caps are different sizes so you need two special tools

It is possible to do it without the bore cap tool, carefully remove the pistons and seals with a screwdriver. Easy if your a gynocologist..

Bore Cap tool will save a load of hassle though…

Its not technically difficult – just a right faff. IIRC it can be done without removing the bore caps but then becomes even more off a faff
