Checked my chain (XT 9 speed) last night and apparently according to my chain checker it’s at the stage when it needs to be changed before I start damaging my cassette.

That chain has been on there since February and has done 1200km, this doesn’t feel that long/far to me…am I wrong?

Chain gets a good brush, then rub down with a clean rag and then a fresh coat of White Lightning Epic before each ride.

Admittedly up until about 6 weeks ago conditions had been on the muddy side, but 1200km seems too short.

I have a SRAM PC991 in stock to swap it with. Likely to last longer?

No idea time and km are roadie measures. Also cleaning is great but its running in the crap and sitting still when clean. Check and change as required.
