    Sorry. I know it’s been on many times before, but the rule of thumb for chain length is around the largest cogs then add a link isn’t it? Does it go through the mech or not?

    Thanks!

    as seven said on my earlier thread;

    “run it over large chainring and large sprocket – that length + 2 links

    don’t run it through rear mech”

    Or run it through the mech, stretch the mech tight and trim to size…..

    Also, if its a suspension bike its not a bad idea measuring the chain with the suspension compressed ie, air out of the shock/spring removed, to take into account chain growth.
