Ok this is probably a silly question. Ive got a orange 5 running a triple (10 speed) in a small frame size. I would like to order a chain for it this afternoon but am unsure if i should go for the 114 links or 116. What are the chances that it will be exactly one or the other?

Any recommendations? Im thinking

Basically nil. There’s always some spare chain to be removed.

what do you think of these directional chains? any good?

I think all shimano 10 speed are, aren’t they?

Not had any problems with the 105 one on my road bike (which is probably the equivalent).

Also a bit confused if a sram chain would work. I read about HGX chains (like i have at the moment)

Accidentally fitted a directional Shimano HGX chain the wrong way, I used it that way for a few rides before I noticed, I couldn’t tell any difference in terms of shifting.
