My knee went on my first century.

Have you ever had a bike fit?

    Nope.

Good work Daffy. I really don’t know how you survive the boredom of road riding for that long.

Good work. It’s one thing doing something like a big 100 mile sportive with company and loads of wheels to follow on a summers day. Entirely another thing to do one (almost) solo, in inclement weather, in the dark.

Nice effort. Character building. The next one will be a lot faster.

I’ll be honest, I put my earphones in and listened to music after 75miles. It really helped.

Why not do it at touring pace next time? Take some longish stops to look around, eat cake, and you’ll never feel tired or sore, ie enjoy the countryside?

    Allow 10 hours.

    Next time? Really? 🙂

Oh, and pick a dry day.

You did well to do your first century like that in the wet and the dark.
