2nd in charge?
Not for long
It one of the hardest things I have ever had to face. I spent 20 years in pursuit of running my own dementia unit. I finally got there and I hated it and I was crap at it. The peter principle ( google it)
My natural level is second in charge. Thats what I do well. Someone else can set the policy and act as final arbiter. I can implement and support – thats what I am good at.
Its a harsh lesson to learn but now I have the opportunity with a role that is perfect for me. I know the boss – someone I can work with and who is strong enough not to be threatened by me and will give me clear direction.
I am nervous, excited, scared, exhilarated – and full of bubbly hence the post.
Ta folks.
