I’m not an expert, right, but I’d say that’s a bit broken.

I’m sure some engineeringy types will be along presently to tell me I’m wrong though….

Class! That’ll teach him for using shit forks for dirt jumping though. I remember the steerer on my old marzocchi dirt jumpers was about 10mm thick steel.

Looks to me like they didn’t snap but were taken apart.

looks like its a bit staged/faked?

It did’nt snap. The steerer is press fitted into the crown relying on an interference fit to keep them attached…or not.
You’d have to have balls of steel to jump a 20ft gap knowing your forks are’nt attached and if you knew it was coming, let alone pull back hard enough to flip it.I don’t think you’d try and stop the rotation whilst still 10ft up either!!

    Ain’t that the truth 😉

the steerer tube still has the crown race on, How did that magically pull through the head tube without pinging off or removing both the upper and lower headset cups in mid air?

CSI Taz calls it bollarks 😆

Clearly staged, why are we even debating this?

Infact, I watched it again. Its definitely a set up. He starts leaning backwards to do the flip before his forks have come apart. Good god. What a trick though, a real crowd pleaser.

Looks pretty obviously staged to me.
Still brave/stoopid to give it a go though

So to do a back flip you don’t lean back until after you left the ramp…..mmmmm o.k.
Now I’ve only ever flipped into foam pits (and a couple of times on resi) but I can tell you thats not how you do it.

Very stupid to do that just for £250 from YBF.
The lack of brake and gear cables gives the setup away too.

Yes, always a good idea to run cables on a bike without brakes or gears, you never know when they might come in handy.

It took me a couple of views to work out where his handlebar went!

BTW, Rorschach and rootes1, do you happen to know who each other is in teh real world? I think you knew each other when it was all forest and a few dinosaurs.

what do you mean as well? I only ride my scott scale now as I’ve come to the conclusion that big wheels and all that jazz was just a strange fad brought on by inhabiting this place for too long and I caught a dose of weeping niche-itis

all on the classifieds in the new year
