I’m surprised this is a thing, wouldn’t have thought there was enough of a market for them now the scrap market is supposedly regulated but yesterday someone cut the cat out of the exhaust on my Freelander while it was in a local park & ride car park.
Ignoring the absolute arseholeness of it & the embuggerance of getting the whole mid section of the exhaust replaced when I’m in the middle of a stressful training course, I just hope the bloody thing was actually knackered so they get nothing for it after they hacksawed their way through it lying on their back in a soaking wet car park….

Platinum in them I believe. No idea if it’s true, or how much.

Happened to mini buses twice at my wife’s school. Cost them £2000.

I assumed they went on eBay or are stolen to order.

You might find it turns up at your local cat converters.

    Sorry, I’ll get my cat.

in the current market one from a freelander is probably worth £17.50 if it is oem if it is after market it is worth about a quid as scrap . ebay is more likely now . they have some palladium in them although this is now starting to be replaced with ceramics making them worthless as scrap
