The thing is, if your neighbours decided not to press charges, then you might get away with it. I dunno if the CPS would pursue the matter any further, if both parties were happy to settle the matter to the satisfaction of all involved. Probably not.
However, if they did press charges, you'd be fecked. You'd be charged with breaking and entering, and would face whatever penalty applies. Your fineness and upstandingness would have some bearing on sentence, possibly, but that's about it.
You can't make up Law to suit yourself, you know.
