there seem to be a few posts popping up now and then about people having probs removing a alu post from carbon frames.

does the same problem occur with carbon posts in alu frames?

thinking of an alu frame with a carbon post to help soften the ride a little, hence my asking.

My CX bike has a carbon post in alu frame and the first time I tried removing it, it was a total pig to shift. I've used the specific carbon grease on it since day 1 but after that first removal I now remove and regrease the post every 6 months or so.

I'd rather do that than just leave it and then end up breaking it though and I tend to look after my bikes quite well so it's not really a chore.

You can get special anti-slip grease for carbon components (FSA and others make it). Get some and use it.
