I’m considering upgrading to carbon. Apart from the un-sprung weight and stiffness (?) what are the other advantages?

Reccomendations? (on which organ to sell?! :|)

Not sure carbon wheels are any lighter than good alloy ones, really?

There are half price Easton haven 29ers on CRC right now, the warranty (which you’ll need) is supposedly a no questions asked replacement policy – reverse the car ovee them, you’re still covered.

There is a big thread about these on MTBR… I’d be very tempted to give them a whirl (on a hub of your own choice).

    Light Bicycle Carbon Rims

Edit – comment to say that many of the ebay etc carbon wheels I’ve looked at have crap/heavy/unknown hubs for which spares could be a problem… this way you can choose your own.

I’ve checked out the Easton offers and tempted but not looking to run adapters on my 15qr to make them fit. Do the hubs come with cones?

A Crest 29er is lighter and cheaper. Carbon clincher rims just seem a little pointless to me!
