Moneysupermarket.com research has found that one in six motorists in the UK does not have motor insurance

    😯

Blimey! That’s (just) over 16%… I never realised it was this high a percentage!

When asked why they have no cover:

    38% blamed being between policies
13% said they cannot afford insurance
9% said they cannot be bothered to arrange cover

    And the best one…

6% said there is no point having it as they will not crash

    Again, just 😯

Time to start crushing cars, handing down £1000 fines and 3 year bans.

    ..no feable excuses.

When somebody smashed into me, and admitted they didn’t have insurance – I used good old blackmail to get a nice replacement car.

    I ‘sold’ my 1.3 ‘R’ reg Fiesta to them for…. £1500….. when I bought it for £400.

Took a couple of photos of the damage, and the driver, and their car (inc. numberplate, etc). Then asked them how much the photos were worth to them, if they did not want to give me their insurance details.

Rather expensive mistake for them to make. Hopefully next time, they will be insured properly.

    Feasible or feeble?

Anyways…..while I can in no way condone driving with no insurance, when I hear 17 year olds are being charged over £2k for a 1.0 car it certainly seems like an added factor.

It’s obvious what I meant, don’t be so pedantic. 😉

    Either way works anyway.

If they can’t afford the insurance then they should not be driving.

Owning and driving a car is not some god given right contrary to what some of the muppets out there believe.
