What is statistically the most reliable car made in the past say 10years and
    1. No larger than a Golf
    2. Can seat 5 people in comfort
    3. Has fair to good mpg
    4. Has cheap spares and non complex parts
    5. Is cheap to insure
    6. Is fun to drive
    7. Can be bought with an Auto box

    Is it actually a Golf?

    Honda Civic

edit: BUT if you were buying new or nearly new now, I’d look at Hyundai or Kia for the extended warranties.

    MX5 or Lotus Elan M100.

Do spend >£500 for safety reasons.

None to the OP seems to point to a golf?

Current Hyundai’s will be top over the next ten years. Honda the last.

Your looking for a flying carpet there mate powered by fairy dust. Petrol powered Honda of some description probably your best bet. Any diesel very complicated with expensive fuel and clutch related problems not to mention DPF’s. I would plum for a Honda Jazz the 1.4 maybe.

Go to your nearest scrappy and ask them what they have the most of and the least off?
Go to an mot station and ask them what fail/do not fail the most off 💡

,has anyone sat in a hyundai or a kia…….

A colleague took me to the shop in their i10 it struk me they were just as terrible places to be as they were when i owned my 00 lantra si

That said our base spec golfs not any nicer , my peugeot partner with no toys is a much nicer place to be than both.

Do you know, I came off a roundabout last night in my TT, pulled out to overtake the fridge/Kia Piccanto in front, and the Kia just drove away from me.

Alright I wasn’t exactly at max revs, but even so, it took me by surprise.

It didn’t make me want one though.
