Looking to remove the parts of my old shimano shifter on my shop bike that tell you what gear you in and replace them with some kind of cap, so I can repossition my brake levers.

Anyone know where I can buy them from?

Fine, hack saw and remove the internals it is!

Some (I think SLX upwards) have the disc/cap on the back of the shifter window! Unscrew the little blighter and hopefully it’s tucked behind there giggling like a mischieveous imp that’s been found hiding.

My Deore shifters have a disc shaped gap where a cap could be but frustratingly isn’t 😡

These are old shifters on my shop bike, however I just upgraded the brakes to XT the new style ones and I want to repossition the brake levers.

Took a hack saw to the shifter, then filled the internals with grease , then I sealed it up with a plastic / rubber sealant, looks fine and I wish I had done it ages ago!
