Quite tempted. Seller has been decent with communications and selling apparently for a friend that works from Canyon. He does have others for sale, just seems “too good to be true”. Wants cash on collection.

Any thought much appreciated and taken on board.

Great feedback, address there, info all there, lots of pics, obviously intelligent. I’d buy it.

2014 model (I assume), no warranty, plenty of info and you’d get to see it before parting with cash. Don’t think its ropey, just not sure it’s actually that good a deal

It’s not a great discount on rrp for a s/h bike with no warranty.
Other than that, it looks ok.

Did you see previous thread about canyon bikes on eBay and cc fraud? They were coc only too.

He’s also selling an unused specialised tarmac and a load of phones.

    Sorry, looks fishy to me.

He’s not selling a load of phones. He’s selling a load of phone replacement screens.
He must be importing them, selling them on for a few quid.
No idea where he gets his bikes from but I’m sure if they were stolen someone would have cottoned on by now.

Doesn’t look dodgy, but hardly “too good to be true” either. Not loads of money off tbh

It’s worth having a read of the other thread imo.
    (about Credit Card fraud).
It opened my eyes a bit and also gave some info on what happens to you/your purchase if it turns out to be cc fraud.

Ask yourself why it’s being sold unusued.

And if you believe the explanation, ask yourself if it’s because you want to believe it.

There seems to be an established history of fraud on this product, and then another seller pops up offering the same kind of deal.

    Fishy!

Someone did cotton on to the last seller. But this kind of crime could be organised by somebody else, giving different sellers a cut in return for their risk.

I almost bought one of those cheap Canyons on eBay but I spoke to a guy at Canyon (Germany) whilst he could not speculate on an individual bike he said they have had a lot of CC frauds in the past year but they have also had warranty claims on bikes that are not canyon frames.

The upshot is it looks like they buy them on a stolen CC, strip the bike and rebuild using a cheap chinese frame (canyons have some of the easiest paint scheme/sticker packs to copy) they can then sell the ‘new’ bike and still have a new frame left over to sell …double whammy

Cheers guys, I’ve read the thread on Canyons cc fraud before. There was a long one on Bikeradar. Similar area.

Think I’ll let this one walk even with a negogiated discount.

Thanks again for all the comments. Interesting.
