I can’t seem to open the GPX files the event organiser has emailed me.

I’ve had no problems before, but this just says something along the lines of ‘this XML file has no form or content’
Everyone else seems to have managed!

Normally I save the attachment then upload it to my chosen site, in my case GPSies. ( I can add waymarks there) then load it onto my Garmin.

Sorry if this is vague or way off the mark, but I have a cold and I’m pre-coffee.

I’ve half a memory that this is a compatibility issue; there’s a string in the XML that the Garmin either requires and is missing, or doesn’t like and needs removing. I had a similar problem with .GPX routes downloaded from some NW MTB site or other. There’s probably ‘fix’ utils kicking around but I think I just edited manually the ones I had issues with.

try something different to open them?
http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/ is very useful for converting (in/out of GPX format)
