I thought expansion type set ups were the bees knees for carbon. Surely Star Fangled Nuts are the big no no?

I thought carbon bungs were a must, stopping the steerer from getting crushed. What sort of fork ?

Using a head doctor in mine ...... When you see what a carbon bung is you wouldnt worry . Sfns are bad ! Mmmkay

I have to imagine a head doctor would be ok - don't forget you've got a nice bit of aluminium (your stem) clamped around the outside of the tube to stop it exploding...
