Hi – just building my new whyte 146 frame and have a 180 rotor but the frame seems to be set for a 160. Does anybody know if you can buy an adaptor to make it take a 180?

I take it this is on the swing arm? Is it post mount? You will probably need an adaptor to move the caliper out far enough to accommodate a larger rotor. I think a 160mm would go on without an adaptor if it is post mount.

If you’ve got Shimano or Avid brakes, Merlin will probably have what you need, here:

Thanks. It’s a swing arm mounted one so the traditional adaptor won’t work. Recon i would need a new bolt-through/mount combo to make it work:(

What brakes are they? And is it post mount or IS mount on the frame?

Post mount is two stubby threaded posts, whereas IS mount will be two holes. I imagine it’ll be post mount on such a modern frame.

You just need the right adaptor for your brakes. Post up what brakes you have and finding the right mount shouldn’t be too difficult.
