  • Can you buy shims to fit standard bars to oversize stems?

    A lot of stems seem to be coming out in oversize only and while I appreciate that oversize bars are stiffer I'm not sure that I need them and I'd rather not have to buy new bars. Can you shim a standard bar to fit an oversize stem, if so I've never seen them (Thomson appear to sell shims to fit a 1 1/8" stem to a 1" steerer but nothing for bars).
