I’m looking at buying a hardtail that comes with a Fox F80 RL 80mm travel fork. Would I be able to convert this to 100mm?

I’d like to do this and stick the fox fork on my full-suss, putting my present Rebas onto the new hardtail.

I asked TFT the same question a while back and they said no.

    That’s a bummer.

You can decrease the travel from stock on Fox F series forks but not increase.

That doesnt leave a lot of options on an 80mm stock fork!

i believe you can with a Rockshox fork, espec reba and sid, adapt from 100 down to 80.

The older Fox forks could go from 80 to 100mm by removing a spacer. Certainly this was true of the 2003 forks on my Epic.

I still have them and they are definitely at 100mm. I think I remeber that they changed the design so that only a decrease could be made.

This is a 2008 so no go there. I’ve got this years Rebas which are internally adjustable from 100 to 120 or 80. Was hoping the fox might be the same.
