Wife listens to crap music on her Ipod and I listen to great music on mine.

Can the same I tunes cope with 2 different tastes in music in the same login? (so I don’t have to bother to log in as her for her music sync and me for mine?

yes. just plug in the other ipod and itunes will ask you to setup the sync settings for it

and simplest way i can think of is create two playlists, one for each ipod and then sync only one playlist per ipod.

And you can connect them at the same time.

I am sat here with syncing my ipone, the GFs Nano and Apple TV all at once.

Turn off the autosync function, move across stuff you want to whichever ipod is plugged in. We have all the music on one itunes, and have had 2 shuffles and a nano plugged in at the same time.

3 x ipods here, all running off 1 itunes

i just keep a playlist for each of us – and set the synch on each ipod to the correct playlist

    simples!
