    i know my prescription and the brand i usually wear,so can i buy direct instead of via optician, as i did my last pair of specs? if so, where is good?

    well google is my friend http://www.visiondirect.co.uk has what i need for about £25 less than my usual source, anyone used this site though?

    I looked at buying daily disposables from the internet. All they wanted was an current eye test/prescription from an optician before they would sell on line. Think it was vision direct.

    You'd be paying for your eye tests every six months / year / two years depending how often you have a check up

    I use vision direct, have done for about 2 years now, they are a shed load cheaper – like half price compared to the optician. I just pay for my contact lense checkups myself, it still works out cheaper because I dont go as often as the optician wants me too!

    Possibly not the most sensible option, but I recon as long as your careful with how long you wear lenses for and give your eyes enough rest Im not too worried.

    just gave the above an order, had prescription off the box of my usual lenses and they use paypal! we shall "see" what happens

    I use Asda online contact lenses, but they do check by phoning the optician you use and checking you have had a contact lens check within 12 months. Its the law so they say.
