Recently did some work up near Watford for a week. The local hotels / travelodges etc wanted ridiculous money as there was some sort of event on that week.
So we borrowed a large tent and went camping ( 4 steel erectors)
It was good weather so barbeque and beer was the order of the day .

Now we have more work up that way at the end of August , and the boys are happy do go camping again .
So would it be acceptable to purchase an 8 man inflatable through the company. Obviously there would be receipts etc from the campsite to show we have stayed there and used said tent . I may want to use it on occasion for personal use too.
Would certainly save some money over a 4 week period

Would be classed as an asset so offset depreciation, tax, etc.
But answer is yes – along with the rest of the kit needed.
Only “issue” would be showing it is `exclusively for the intended use – i.e. work travel/accommodation.

    Don’t see why not.

But it’s wholly and exclusively for business use, isn’t it. Wink-wink 🙂

    Yup. Go for it.
Just keep all receipts inc any for your work related stays.

if you saw the news today you would have seen what the boss of rail claimed back. so comparing a packet of crisps id say a tent is acceptable

When you’ve done with it for work, just sell to your wife or something. Obviously once it’s been used by 4 steel erectors it’ll be worth bugger all….

Is this the tent, or the wife we’re talking about here?
