Screen for the words (so no need to link to a TV)
Recording ability
Girlie colours (not Darth Vader black as many seem to be)

Do they have [access to] a Playstation (PS2, 3 or 4)?

If so, have a look at ‘Singstar’ – You need to get microphones and one or more ‘game’ discs.

I *think* that the PS3 version records, but not sure.

That is a good suggestion (that I hadn’t considered and will look into), however we were originally thinking of something for them to have in their bedrooms.

Not so much a present, as an act of self-harm. 🙂
