  • Can anyone recommend a decent, light 1.5'' 80mm ish stem?!

My new frame has a 1.5'' head tube and I've seen a cracking deal on some 1.5'' steerer forks.

As such I'm quite tempted to go down that route but can't seem to find a lot of suitable, traily stems.

    Any ideas?

Considering the 1.5" system's designed for the DH/freeride market, I think you'll struggle a bit.Not entirely helpful, but will bump the post.

Stif are doing a Syncros AM 31.8/80mm 1.5 stem for £36 (no idea about P&P), I got one from CRC (sold out now) and it seem pretty damned good, nice & light unlike most 1.5 stems. Otherwise 25.6 ones go pretty cheap on fleabay.

Sunline go to 65mm, shouldn't be too heavy.

    That's a nice length.

Cheers guys, I'm not really sure why the tracer has 1.5'' head tube …

The greater diameter means you can make the metal thinner which means that you increase the stiffness/weight ratio. It also means you have a larger weld area for the top and down tubes to connect to, which means greater strength.
