As in the AV feed off a ‘normal’ camera? Is there a tablet that can be used like this and preferably one that’ll take an SD card?

    what is otg?
I’ve a little Canon compact and the digital AV out is a mini usb. Can that go straight into a type A usb and feed the image?

digital AV via a USB (style) plug could be anything.

very possible it’s a shared format chip inside which detects whether teh connection is USB, USB OTG, HDMI, etc. (think it uses resistance between one of the pins and the ground). probably got undocumented manufacturers service port on there too, via a special USB cable.

don’t recall what ports there are for any of my canon cameras. need to RTFM.

So, is it likely that output could go into a tablet? I suppose what I’m asking is whether a tablet can be used simply as a screen, like a monitor, and if so are any better than others at this. The ability to capture the image on the screen would be useful too.
