Any good campsites in the peaks you’d recommend (preferably in the Edale, Glossop, Buxton area)? Nothing fancy, just quiet, flat and good shower block.

We found it to be quite a peaceful site, within a 10-15min walk of Buxton. It’s on a hill, but the pitches are all nice & flat….
Shower block was fine – Wife insists on not roughing it, in that regard!!

Coopers Edale

Barn Farm Birchover is excellent but nearer Matlock

I quite like Nether Booth campsite just east of Edale. It’s next to the railway track which you may like or not (I do), with good views over to Back Tor/Great Ridge.

Not stopped here for a few years but the Hayfield C&CC site used to be pretty good.

Nearly at the foot of Kinder Scout and a very short walk into Hayfield as well.

Not quite you desired location but very near.

Wherever you end up, keep your bike(s) secure at all times! The local lowlife know that campsites can be easy pickings.

+1 for coopers in edale… The toilets and showers were last decorated in the 50s but they are clean and work…. Plus it’s right next to a pub!

Cooper is a hoot, old man Cooper can be all the entertainment you need.

There’s lots and all different types, Coopers is good for families, big fields, pick your spot.
Down the lane is Fieldhead, smaller and you have to park then carry your kit but there are some nice spots.
Laneside near Hope is a bit bigger, by the main road but really well managed, if a bit strict.
Eden Tree is just outside Bradwell, cheap but in earshot of the cement works so there can be background noise.
I know the family who own Knotlow – lovely people but they have had a bit of aggro from Peak Park recently so worth checking hey can still take tents.
