I'm looking for some burgers/sausages etc for a BBQ. But will be camping, so wont have fridge access.

So what is going to survive the longest in the warm and not go off??

Cool box?

cool box with plenty of freezer blocks.
If you are staying at a campsite, you can generally freeze the blocks as they melt and if you have enough it's not to difficult to rotate them so you have some in the coolbox and some in the freezer.

Or if there's a supermarket nearby, buy a couple of bags of ice & stick them on the top & bottom of the cool bag/box unopened. If you keep the cool bag/box in the shade & only open it when you need to then it'll stay cold for ages.

How long do you want them to survive?

Buy fresh ones (ones from the freezer section curmble as they thaw out hence why you have to cook from frozen), freeze them, and chuck them in a coolbox or coolbag with a few ice packs or pop bottles full of ice. Will probably be cold for 36hours+.

You could get a Coleman Extreme or Igloo Maxcold Coolbox which will keep your food at fridge temperatures as long as you keep feeding the box ice, generally a bag of ice cubes every one or two days depending on the ambient temperature. Only downside is that they're a bit space hungry but well worth it imo.

Cool box and a carton of frozen milk, plus fill up any gaps with ice.
The milk will thaw out by possibly breakfast time.

Stuff bought in tins or jars will last forever. Or just buy it locally on the day.

Even a cool bag will do, just freeze some bottles of water to put in it.

You sound like you know what you're doing, but don't forget matches or a lighter 🙄

Cool box & several frozen cartons of fruit juice will keep things cold enough for a couple of days. The litre juice cartons are cheaper & stay frozen longer than the smaller ice blocks and you can drink the nice cool juice when you've finished keeping yer bangers ambient 🙂

Are you taking a car? If so, get a powered coolbox (but don't forget to run the engine occasionally or the battery will go flat).

a bucket of water, in the shade will keep milk quite happily for a good few days. simple and effective.

Wrap frozen food in LOADS of newspaper and pop into a bag in the shade.

If you are camping in bear territory, tie it to a rope and hang it from a tree. 😉

Buy a cool bag/box, it will probably cost less than the burgers!

But I've carried fresh meat without cooling for a weekend and never had a problem, we're far too careful about freezing/chilling foods when it isn't necessary.

Simple, don't go camping with food that goes off.

Local greengrocer will give you largish expanded polystyrene boxes with tight fitting lids
IMO they're more effective than specific cool boxes
