Has anyone rented a van style campervan from a local ccompany in NW or Yorkshire?
We’re thinking of buying one but want to try a couple for a weekend before parting with lots and lots of cash

No, but interested for similar reasons (although less likely to buy).

My mate has just started a camper hire business and he is based in Llangollen. It is very early days but it has been an interest of his for years.

Have a look here….it’s kind of like Owners Direct for van owners. Click on the find a van link to search by area.

Just finished reading the van test in the mag and then spotted this thread. Quite fancy trying a van for a couple of weekends too.

I’d really like a big financial windfall soon

These are based just south of Scotch Corner, some of our best friends own it and a couple of the vans are named after my kids, so I will admit to a little bit of bias! They also sell motorhomes as well. They will also deliver within reasonable distance if you ask nicely…

If you end up going down the VW California route there are two types – an SE which is the full fitted camper and the Beach that I have that is missing the plumbing and gas so more like a rigid tent from a camping perspective. You’re welcome to have a look as I’m in West Yorkshire.
