    after some ideas more than anything. A GF1 would be nice due to the size and flexibility, but not the price.

    Which cameras exist that are small, with biggish sensors, and changeable lenses. How much bigger would a small DSLR be? or how much flexibilty would you loose by going to a compact such as the lumix lx3

    I've just bought a Canon G11 and am really happy with it. Depends how involved you want to be – the G11 and GF1 allow you to muck about with ISO, shutter speed etc, but also take great 'auto' shots.

    I have an Lumix LX3, a Nikon D70 and a Nikon D300.

    I'll give you one guess which takes most photos….

    That's right the Lumix, mainly because it gets taken out as its small and discrete, can be chucked in the coat pocket or Mrs Coolhandluke's hand bag.

    As a result of this, the pictures it produces are better then the ones the Nikon's can take because the SLR'd don't get a look in.

    Flexibility doesn't come into it.

    why not see if you can pick up a second hand G1??
