Is the new design any good for strapping waterproofs to?

I really liked the old design with the falp and straps, but since it went all zips it doesn’t look as versatile.

I want a smaller pack for quick rides and intend to carry a small toolkit, energy bar, maybe a battery and a small waterproof. Will it all fit?

New version can still be used to carry a waterproof.

Just unzip the flap that covers the reservior filler cap and then you can put jacket underflap and hold secure using the clip thingy!!!

It’s just big enough.
