Is there an easier formula I can use other than this:-

    =+CONCATENATE(+LEFT(B4,7),"*")

    To do the same thing?

    Many thanks as always.

Depends what you are trying to achieve, but that looks pretty simple to me.

Does the "&" join two text strings?

You learn something new everyday. 🙂

Yes, and please stop putting plus signs in front of your formulas.

LittleTones, what's worse is feeling obliged to answer excel based queries on here at 10 at night when you've been developing budgeting models in VBA for 12 hours that day!

W**king over Excel at 10 at night will make you blind I'm sure!!
