Great news, PP! Clearly my advice was the key element in your success…!

    Indeed. 🙂

Congrats PP, fair play for making a big change in life. How was the cytech course? I’m thinking of doing it myself, what level did you do?

I did Cytech 2. It was surprisingly hard work the first week (lots of information) but I loved it.

Don’t let them ask you to do the peg board for the tools.

I’m not going to live that down for a while, am I? 🙂

The A30 through Frimley, Bagshot, Egham to Staines is virtually a straight line for me. I came back that way, took 25 mins….. By motorbike. 🙂

I’ve worked with / known Dan and Tim for 15+ years – great people. Great work ethic – work hard but enjoyable too.

Nice and easy on a bike , it should be a doddle.
If you like sushi Staines has sushi Nara which is nice . Momos is good for Asian food and the market on Wednesday has a few stalls who do some great grub.

    Hope it goes well. Congrats

Well done PP I admire your determination to get the job – it may not pay the best but hopefully you will get the satisfaction to more than make up for it.

Been in the Windsor branch a couple of times didn’t know there was another one in Staines, it’s not that far from me, if I ever need anything I’ll give ’em a try.

From your posts it’s clear that you do not suffer fools gladly, have you done a course in dealing with numpties ?

Good luck to you, I look forward to future “Tales from the LBS” threads.

Well. There’s the thing. Yes, I’ll be carrying on with the private work. I live far enough from the shop to not be taking their trade, which is handy, and after 3 months I’ll get parts at trade prices, which is also handy! 🙂 But I won’t have the time on my hands to do more than one or two jobs a week, as I’ll be working weekends.
But I do realise I now have a small set of ‘loyal customers’ that I must keep happy. 🙂

    Congratulations.

It’s opposite Debenhams on the corner of Thames Street (?) right on the pedestrian, crossing, but bizarrely difficult to spot……

    Nice one.
Shame you have to work in Staines tho

True, but there’s worse places. 🙂 And I might end up in Windsor at some point I suppose.

Great news PP. I don’t know you nor you me but I have found myself agreeing with many of your posts. It,s always good to hear things working out for people, especially when they invest time money and effort. Hope all works well.
