I have been through the HMRC website but can’t be confident I’ve got the fee’s corrext.

I’m looking at a set of forks from Jensen USA at a price of £570 shipped. How much of a hammering could I expect on the import costs?

If it’s too much I may as well buy within the EU for yhe extra £££.

    Cheers, Jay

Duty is around 4%. Then there’s VAT at 20%. Then there’s the handling charge – another £20 or so. If the forks are available in the EU at anywhere around £750 then I’d avoid the hassles (and potential warranty issues).

for bike parts allow duty of 4.7% on cost + shipping and a further 20% VAT on that. Then you may also have to pay a £10-20 handling fee to the courier.

    So Id estimate around £735

EDIT: Beaten to it by onion.

Awesome thanks gents. Not worth it then for the sake of £30 or so saving.

    Cheers
