If buying from Europe online using PayPal is it usually better to go with your debit card exchange rate rather than Paypal exchange rate?.

paypal was 1.36 yesterday, dunno what debit card would be, but natwest CC always charge me a fee, so do all my european bike stuff through PayPal

The Paypal exchange rate is usually a bit rubbish. Your debit card probably has a better rate.
But check if your bank charges you a non-sterling transaction fee.

I have a Halifax debit card, which has a £1.50 fee. I calculated the difference a while ago – seems its best using the Paypal conversion for less than about £50. For more than that, better paying in euros on the card.
