Considering on making a bid on a bike related item

It says $30 postage which is fair enough

But it also says $20 tax.

Is that ebay covering themselves just in case or is there always a charge for second hand goods ?

VAT to pay on item+postage costs then duty too. And maybe a courier/RM handling fee

If thats via the Global Shipping Program they pre-pay the duty from that $20 so there are no delays in customs and no handling fee to be paid to courier.

Doesn’t matter if it’s second hand, the rules are the same.
