Fried my finger with a few intake manifold backfires (blue flames are pretty but hot) Plaster on it or not? It’s burst while working with it but it keeps leaking, I dont want to get gack in it, but likewise I dont want to put a plaster on it in case I trap any passing gack in it.

You need air to get to burns… no plaster.

OK, that tips the balance – wasn’t aware of Dracs position of authority on the matter, or rather I was, but I had forgotten! Thanks all, clingfilm it is. Sorry neverfastenstuff. I might change my name to neverholdathrottleopenwithyourfingersonanuntunedengine

I had a nasty burn resultind from scalding water and whatever you do don’t let it get dirty. If it gets infected you are looking at a possible operation, at least thats what I was advised.
