I need to get hold of a buff as my head melts with a beanie under my helmet. Given I'm away for the moment and can't get hold of the roadie mag with the free one, anyone able to point me at one because I refuse to pay 12 quid for one.

I'm sure someone posted up a while ago saying Poundland did Buff-esque things for…a pound!

I got a free one at SITS a few years ago 😀

Well it wasn't that free really as I drove half the length of the country, paid the entry fee and biked round a field muddier than the Somme for 24 hours and trashed my bike. Least I got a buff though 🙂

nickegg – My wife already has questions when she sees me in lycra. Asking for a pair of tights is going to push my luck.

I manage to avoid it offroad, but for some reason the road loop is making me feel my ears are about to go black and fall off.

the profit on a standard buff must be incredible – 30 cm of unfinished cheap fabric from a factory in china must cost them 2p max, far more spent on marketing and the cardboard face it comes with.

motorbike shops often carry the oxford ones at about £6-8 for a 3 pack

I also use them cut into headbands about 2" deep to wear under my helmet as sweatbands when it isn't warm enough to need a buff; I just hate salty sweat washing dust and grit down into my contact lenses
