I’m looking at treating myself to a new bike, and I’m after an all day bike rather than a hooning bike, so I’m thinking short travel FS. Budget is also a factor, so I’m looking at either a Trance 3 or Mongoose Cannaan comp from last year. Erring on the side of the Canaan at the moment as it has arguably a better spec, but more importantly a slightly longer top tube and a slightly slacker head angle so it probably won’t be as nervous on the downs. Anyone care to offer an opinion on either?

Yeah, it’s Paul’s I’m looking at. I’m pretty small (max 5’8" if I stand up straight!), so 16" is good for me. Think PK’s are mediums IIRC

could go with a trance 3 and some 120 ish forks to slacken it off a little bit when youve got some spare change.

Ditto Trance again, got one myself and it’s fantastic.

Sell the 100mm forks and replace immediately. 120mm Reba with maxle would be a great match.
