  • Budget hydration bladder/hose/bitevalve recommendations?

I need a new hydration bladder etc. Im looking for 3L with a hose and bite valve. Large opening for filling not required.

Anyone got any budget recommendations such as chinese ebay ones? Ive used platypus in the past with no problems. I tend to avoid camelbak.

    nice but a bit pricey – £30!

I was thinking more like one of these, £7

I’ve got a 7 quid Decathlon one. It’s alright, but valve is a bit of a faff, doesn’t flow that well, and the hose seems to pinch very easily.

Have a look on eBay. I bought a 2L one for £12 recently. Nice quality too.

    Quick follow up

I plumped for el cheapo on eBay:

    £7 posted. Arrived today (4days)

Seems reasonably well manufactured. No rough edges, air tight. Materials seem substantial enough for the job for now.

However the 3L is looooong and thin.
Listing images suggest that the smaller sizes are same width but shorter. Not many people going to be using a 3L on a bike, but this is for walking for me. Fortunately it fits in my hiking rucksack which is longer than most ride bags so that’s OK.

Bite valve is interesting design. Valve can be opened or closed with your mouth by pulling or pushing. Once open you bite to allow water to flow.

All in all, it should do the job with little fuss.
