I am a uk student and have a small budget, i’m looking for an adventure road bike. I have limited choice as my budget is £600-£800. three bikes im interested in are as follows:

    Pinnacle arkose 1 https://www.evanscycles.com/pinnacle-ar … e-EV275622

    Norco search
    https://www.evanscycles.com/norco-searc … e-EV277745

    Genesis cda10

I like the styling of the norco and the cheaper price would mean i could buy more accessories. It doesnt have a carbon fork, but I was wondering how much this matters.

The bike will be used a bit for town cycling, but more focus on venturing out into the uk countryside.

Do you have any comments or suggestions, i’m not keen on the specialised diverge at my price range. Im also after a reasonably lightweight bike as i will need to carry it up stairs.

Id buy a second hand one, you get a better bike for a lot less money. Try places like https://www.bikesoup.com/ Some real bargains.

    Id also check http://www.halfords.com/cycling/bikes?brand=Boardman

Great value bikes if you must have a new one

Consider the Boardman CX. Carbon fork, hydro disks 1×11. I’m absolutely delighted with mine. With BC discount card and when it has £200 off at Halfords (pretty much always) it’s a lot of bike for £700.

I’ve been considering a road bike recently, but some on here suggested a gravel bike might be a better thing for a mountain biker.I found this that looks really good to me ,and might be of interest to you,I would love to hear the opinions of others on here.

Boardman CX is really nice, but I’m not sold on 1x if you end up doing a lot of road miles. Problem is going 2x seems to add a fair bit of cost. Second hand might be your best bet.

I also have a Pinnacle Arkose for sale in the classifieds for £450 – alloy fork but dual chainrings.

Have you looked at/considered the Mango Point AR?
