Read the article in issue 60, and made contact with BC to see if they wanted to help fund my proposal for an MTB set of trails just outside winchester. The biggest surprise was the response:

BC will only invest in a project where they can have majority ownership, and the site is primarily for use for racing. As most (if not all) MTB trail centres are for recreational use, and bridleway networks are not allowed to be used for racing. Plus most Forestry Commission sites are leased form land owners, the BC will not be interested in supporting MTB projects.

Anyone know who I can go to for funding in the Hampshire region, as the FC official response so far is 'No, we don 't have the money as our budgets have been slashed', as well as their apparent negativity towards mountain bikers using their sites.
